EMS AIRFLOW

Absolute Smiles has introduced a state-of-the art method of cleaning teeth known as “guided biofilm therapy”. Using the EMS Airflow unit, a stream of warm water, fine powder and air are used to gently remove stain and build up from the teeth. For patients with particularly sensitive teeth, the use of warm water can considerably decrease any discomfort felt, alongside simple but effective options such as Oraquix numbing gel.

At Absolute Smiles, we recommend patients attend every 6 months for an “Active Maintenance” appointment. At this visit, our skilled dental hygienists will perform a thorough scale and clean to remove all plaque and calculus buildup from the teeth and gums to ensure bacteria is removed. One of our dentists will then complete a check-up of the teeth, gums and soft tissue to ensure optimum health and identify any potential issues at an early stage. We truly embrace the philosophy that prevention is always better (and cheaper) than a cure.

For patients with very sensitive teeth and gums, fast-acting numbing gels or local anaesthetic can be used to make the procedure comfortable. Our EMS airflow system is the latest cutting-edge technology in teeth cleaning and can further reduce any discomfort felt during cleaning appointments.
